Arrival at Entebbe International Airport: Day 1

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, our representative guide will welcome you and drive you to your accommodation facility. Have lunch and freshen up for an enchanting evening in Kampala. Proceed to Ndere Cultural Center to enjoy Uganda’s rich cultural heritage through music, dance & drama. Return to your Hotel for dinner and overnight.

Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park: Day 2

After an incredible breakfast, you’ll transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Kisoro. The national park retains the slogan, “where silver meets gold” because it is home to two of the most endangered primates. The “silver” refers to the mountain gorillas and the “gold” to the golden monkeys. The 10 hours drive will take you through the vibrant Kampala city to the scenic southwestern part of Uganda. Upon arrival, you’ll check in at your hotel for the overnight.

Golden monkey trekking: Day 3

Begin your day with a pre-tracking briefing at the park headquarters- Ntebeko Visitor Center. Head out into the dense forest in search for the golden monkeys. This activity can last up to 4 hours, depending on the weather conditions and the location of the primates. Once you spot the golden monkeys, you will have an 1 hour to observe their ways of life. Return to your hotel for lunch and relaxation. Spend the rest of your day at leisure, enjoying the wilderness and the scenic volcanoes.

Mount Muhavura Hike: Day 4

Start your day with a hearty breakfast and embark on your hiking experience of Mount Muhavura. The activity can last up to 8 hours to hike up the volcano and back. This adventure will reward you with aerial scenic views of different features. These include: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Lake Bunyonyi, the chain of Virunga volcanoes and the small crater lake at the summit. Return to your hotel for relaxation and dinner.

Transfer to Rwanda: Day 5

Transfer from Mgahinga Gorilla National Park to Volcanoes National Park, via the Cyanika Border. Upon arrival at Volcanoes National Park, you’ll check in at your hotel, have lunch and relaxation. Visit the Iby’iwacu Cultural Center to explore the rich cultural heritage of Rwanda. At this center, you’ll enjoy the traditional dances, drumming and the local ways of life. Later on, visit Karisoke Research Center and Dian Fossey ‘s grave. This center will give you insights into the late Dian Fossey’s findings on the nature of the different primates. Return to your hotel for dinner and the overnight.

Gorilla Trekking at Volcanoes National Park: Day 6

Begin your adventurous day with a pre-tracking briefing from a well-trained guide. Hike into the forest in search for the mighty mountain gorillas. This activity can take up to 4 hours and  beyond, basing on various factors like weather conditions and the location of the mountain gorillas. Once you spot these primates, you’ll be allowed to spend 1 unforgettable hour with them observing their ways of life. Return to your hotel for lunch and spend the rest of your day at leisure.

Transfer to Akagera National Park: Day 7

After an incredible breakfast, embark on your journey to Akagera National Park for a Big Five Safari. The 5 hours drive takes you through scenic landscapes of the Virunga volcanoes to the vast savannah plains of Akagera. Have lunch en route and visit Humure Refugee Village for a cultural experience. You’ll enjoy the vibrant cultural dances and also take part in the food production processes. Check in at your hotel for dinner and relaxation.

Big Five Safari at Akagera National Park: Day 8

Start your adventurous day with breakfast and later proceed for a guided big five safari. This game drive gives incredible sightings of lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants, African buffaloes, Sitatunga, zebras, oribi and so much more. The drive can last for up to 3 hours or more and will reward you with great views of wildlife. Enjoy picnic lunch at leisure.

An breath-taking boat cruise will brighten the afternoon. Discover Lake Ihema, Akagera ‘s crystal clear lake that has both a great scenery and close-up views of wildlife. Transfer to Kigali in a drive of about 2.5 hours and check in at your hotel for dinner and relaxation.

Kigali City Tour: Day 9

Day 9 comes with an enchanting city tour of Kigali. After a hearty breakfast, head out to visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial to discover more about Rwanda’s history and cultural heritage. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, enjoying local delicacies and cuisines. Later on, visit Niyo Art Gallery and coffee shop for a great experience that blends culture with creative artistic impressions.

Departure at Kigali Airport: Day 10

Wake up at leisure for breakfast and prepare for your departure at Kigali Airport. Proceed to shop for souvenirs on your way to the airport. Return home with a great collection of memories from your East Africa safari.
