    Day 7: Nyungwe to Akagera National Park – Big Five Safari

    Start your adventurous day with breakfast and later proceed for a guided big five safari. This game drive gives incredible sightings of lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants, African buffaloes, sitatunga, zebras, oribi and so much more. This adventure can last up to 3 hours or more and will reward you with great views of wildlife. Enjoy picnic lunch at leisure, overlooking the savannah plains.

    An breath-taking boat cruise will brighten the afternoon. Discover Akagera National Park’s crystal-clear lake, Lake Ihema that has both a great scenery and close-up views of wildlife. Transfer to Kigali in a drive of about two & a half hours and check in at your hotel for dinner and relaxation.

    Day 8: Departure at Kigali Airport

    After an incredible breakfast, embark on your journey to Akagera National Park for a Big Five Safari. The 5 hours drive takes you through scenic landscapes of the Virunga volcanoes to the vast savannah plains of Akagera National Park. Have lunch en route and visit Humure Refugee Village for a cultural experience. You’ll enjoy the vibrant cultural dances and also take part in the food production processes. Transfer to Kigali Airport for departure.

      Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

      Rwanda offers one of the most ethical and exclusive gorilla trekking experiences in Africa. After breakfast, you’ll start your day with a pre-trekking briefing from a well-trained guide. Hike into the forest in search for the mighty mountain gorillas. This activity can take up to 4 hours and  beyond, basing on various factors like weather conditions and the location of the mountain gorillas. Once you spot these primates, you’ll be allowed to spend 1 unforgettable hour with them observing their ways of life. Return to your hotel for lunch and relaxation. Have a nature walk for great panoramic views of the volcanoes as well as the wildlife in the forest.

      Day 4: Volcanoes To Lake Kivu

      Begin your day with breakfast and drive to the beautiful Lake Kivu. Take a boat tour to the nearby Napoleon island, popular for various bird species, bats, plants and a rich history. In addition, you’ll also visit the coffee plantations at the Nyamirundi Island to learn more about coffee processing. Return to the mainland and have lunch at leisure, enjoying the great scenery. Later on in the day, indulge in water sports like paddleboarding and windsurfing.

      Day 5: Lake Kivu to Nyungwe Forest National Park

      Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park in an hour’s drive. Visit Gisakura Tea Plantation and learn more about how tea is grown, harvested and processed. This area has scenic views of Nyungwe forest and Mount Bigugu. Have lunch and visit Kitabi Cultural Village for a heritage tour. The village offers knowledge about the cultural aspects of the local people and a chance to buy beautiful souvenirs to take home. Spend the evening at leisure, recharging for the chimp trekking adventure.

      Day 6: Nyungwe Forest – Chimpanzees & Canopy Walk

      Start your day with a pre-trekking briefing and begin your adventure with a well-trained guide. Hike into the Nyungwe Forest for a chimpanzee trekking experience. This activity can last up to 4 hours depending on the location of the chimpanzees. Once you spot the playful chimpanzees, you’ll be allowed to spend 1 hour observing their ways of life. Return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. Later on, you’ll embark on a thrilling 160 meters Canopy Walk, suspended above the rainforest. This forest is home to over 300 species of birds and various primates. You’ll get a chance of spotting some of these species during your trekking journey and the canopy walk. Return to your hotel for dinner and the overnight.
