Detailed Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up And Transfer To Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Our representative of Rosamy Africa Safaris Tours & Travel ltd will pick you up from an agreed location in Kampala or Entebbe airport and transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – home to more than half of the remaining mountain gorilla population. The drive to Bwindi from Entebbe or Kampala is long, however exciting – you’ll have the opportunity to witness the stunning countryside, rolling hills, and hospitable people. You’ll stopover at the equator in Kayabwe for photos and lunch in Mbarara town. After lunch, proceed to Bwindi arriving late afternoon with a stunning view of the Kigezi highlands.

Drive to your booked accommodation facility, check in for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla tracking

A great experience and memorable day starts with breakfast and then heads for a short briefing, where you will be instructed on the dos and don’ts while trekking. You will be grouped in a group of 8 people to trek one gorilla family in the forest. This helps to avoid the habituated gorillas not getting used to human beings’ behaviors. Start the trek with the help of the armed park ranger to protect you in case of any danger.

Trekking can take 2-5 hours, depending on where you locate these great apes, due to their movements in search of food. An hour will be given to you after locating them to enjoy watching them as you take photos and videos. After you will trek out of the forest and meet your driver to transfer you to the lodge. In the evening, you may take a community walk to the Batwa homes and enjoy their traditional dance, meals, and artwork.

Day 3: Transfer To Jinja

Enjoy breakfast and transfer back to Jinja town with lunch en route in Mbarara town and a stopover at the equator for photography if you please. Proceed to Jinja past Mabira forest, tea and sugar plantations, and arrive in the evening to check in the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer To Masai Mara National Reserve

From Jinja, you’ll transfer back to Entebbe, from where you’ll catch your flight to the Masai Mara National Reserve. Board your flight to the Masai Mara National Reserve in the southwestern part of Kenya. You’ll be welcomed by a professional safari guide who will then transfer you to your booked safari lodge. Check in at the lodge and spend the rest of your time at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 5: Safari Viewing In the Masai Mara National Reserve

Enjoy your breakfast and spend the whole day adventuring Masai Mara National Reserve. You’ll explore various wildlife hotspots within the reserve for the opportunity to encounter various wildlife species, including the famous African Big Five Animals (lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo, and Elephant). The Masai Mara Is renowned for its spectacular wildebeest migration – one of the greatest shows on Earth. Over 1.5 million wildebeests and their entourage (Zebras & Gazelles) migrate back and forth across Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park and Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve. Expect to encounter various wildlife – beyond the African Big Five on this adventure.  You will be served a picnic lunch as you watch the crocodiles, hippos, and other animals.

Later in the evening, after your game viewing, you’ll also visit the local Masai village for an opportunity to experience the Masai culture; witness their way of life, traditional dances, and meals. In the evening, return to the booked accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 6: Day 2 In the Masai Mara National Reserve

Get ready for the main event! Today’s focus is all about the legendary wildebeest migration. After an early breakfast, you’ll set out with your expert guide for a full day of tracking. They’ll use their deep knowledge of the Mara to find the best spots, putting you in the heart of the action to witness the herds in their full glory. The park is teeming with life, so expect to see a huge variety of other animals too, from majestic elephants to stealthy leopards. With over 90 species in the reserve, every moment is an opportunity for an incredible wildlife sighting. At the end of an action-packed day, you’ll return to the lodge for dinner and a well-deserved rest.

Day 7: Transfer To Nairobi And Departure

After breakfast, depart Masai Mara and embark on your journey to Nairobi with lunch en route, arriving late afternoon. Drop off at the airport for your onward flight, and that’s the end of your Bwindi Gorilla trekking and Masai Mara safari.
