Detailed Itinerary
Day 1- Arrival and Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park
Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, a company representative of Africa Safaris tours.com will warmly welcome you. From Entebbe, you’ll embark on a comfortable road journey to Kidepo Valley National Park. This scenic drive to experience the diverse Ugandan landscape typically takes a full day, with stops for refreshments and lunch along the way.
Upon reaching Kidepo, you’ll be transferred to the exquisite Apoka Lodge in a sturdy 4×4 safari vehicle. Settle in and unwind as you prepare for your first taste of the park’s incredible wildlife. In the late afternoon, we’ll head out for a brief introductory game drive, offering a glimpse of the animals that roam these plains. As dusk settles, we’ll return to the lodge for a delicious dinner and a restful overnight stay, anticipating a more extensive game drive the following day
Day 2- Game drive and Cultural encounter
After an early morning breakfast, we set off for a 3-4 hour morning game drive to Kidepo Valley National Park as we search for lions, the extinct cheetahs, and leopards. After the morning game drive, we shall return to the safari lodge for another breakfast, then relax at the pool as we wait for the afternoon activity. In the afternoon, we briefly visit the Karamojong for a cultural trail and have another evening game drive that is packed with lots of wildlife. Overnight at Apoka Safari Lodge (Food &Breakfast)
Day 3-Morning Game drive and Transfer to Entebbe
Your final day in Kidepo begins with an exhilarating early morning game drive. This is often the best time for wildlife viewing, as many animals are most active during the cooler hours. We’ll venture into the vast plains, searching for predators like lions, leopards, and cheetahs, as well as large herds of buffalo, zebras, giraffes, and various antelope species unique to this region. Keep your camera ready for incredible photographic opportunities against the stunning backdrop of the Kidepo landscape.
After a final exploration of this remarkable park, we’ll return to Apoka Lodge for a hearty breakfast. Following breakfast, you’ll begin your road transfer back to Entebbe. This journey will offer further opportunities to observe rural Ugandan life and scenery. You will be dropped off at Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight, concluding your unforgettable Kidepo Valley safari.
