Day 1: Pick up from the Airport
A representative of Rosamy Africa Safaris Tours & Travel will actively meet you at N’djili International Airport and whisk you directly to your hotel. Begin your Kinshasa adventure immediately; spend the remainder of the day relaxing and unwinding after your flight.
Day 2: Zongo Falls Experience
Your day begins with an early departure from your Kinshasa hotel. Then set off for the spectacular Zongo Waterfalls, located roughly 130 kilometers (about 90 miles) away. This journey to Kisantu in Bas Congo takes approximately three to four hours. Upon arrival, the surrounding Zongo Park offers a truly lovely setting and spectacular scenery.
The main event is the gorgeous Zongo Falls. This is one of the DRC’s most spectacular sights, where the water plunges 65 meters (over 210 feet). To access the best viewing points, you’ll actively engage in some light hiking; however, seeing the water roaring over the precipice makes the effort worthwhile and unforgettable.
Furthermore, what truly makes the Zongo Waterfalls unique is the towering water vapor that dramatically rises to the sky as the river water powerfully hits the ground. If you visit during the dry season, you can also explore a beach 10 kilometers away and experience the natural massage waterfall. You will enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the Selli Safari Resorts, strategically located near the impressive waterfall.
Day 3: Lola Ya bonobo and Kinshasha city tour
You will leave early from your hotel to reach the Bonobos sanctuary around 11:00 AM. This protected preserve, located just outside Kinshasa, shields our closest living relatives—the Bonobos—who share over 99% identical DNA with humans. The sanctuary itself is a beautiful setting, complete with surrounding rainforest and an internal lake.
First, you will enter the briefing room for an introduction. Since the visit occurs in groups, the first one starts at 10:00 AM. Consequently, groups depart every hour and a half, with the final tour concluding around 4:00 PM.
Afterward, you’ll dive straight into a crash Kinshasa city tour. Here, you will actively discover the city’s vibrant culture and rich history. Traveling with an expert local guide, you’ll explore local landmarks, a bustling market, and the powerful banks of the Congo River. Your guide will share the compelling stories behind iconic sites like the National Museum, Kabila’s Mausoleum, and the Place of Independence.
You will enjoy lunch at the Majestic River Restaurant, which offers stunning views of the river and Brazzaville. Finally, you will savor dinner at the popular Chez Flore Restaurant. Later spend the night back at your hotel in Kinshasa.
Day 4: Parc de la valle’e de N’sele and Congo River boat cruise
After breakfast at your Kinshasa hotel, you will head directly to the Parc de la vallée de la N’Sele. This park, located in the Maluku commune in the western DR Congo. Which is just a 90-minute drive from the city center. The N’Sele Valley Park actively promotes conservation while offering a space for relaxation, entertainment, and truly fresh, pure air.
Furthermore, the park is consistently growing its population of animals, showcasing the rich biodiversity of the Congo. You will spot spectacular species like lions, impalas, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos, rhinos, and elephants. Currently, while herbivores roam freely, the carnivores—lions, crocodiles, and monitor lizards—remain in enclosures; ultimately, all animals will be released to live in freedom. Beyond game viewing, you can engage in activities around the park, including cycling, kayaking, hiking, or riding the Zip line.
Subsequently, following your game safari in the Parc de la vallée de la N’Sele, you will proceed to Safari Beach for a majestic, hour-long boat cruise on the Congo River. An experienced captain will guide your speed boat through a captivating cruise on this powerful river for a full hour.
Day 5: Drop off To Airport/Hotel
Finally, your adventure concludes. In the morning, you will be promptly transferred to N’djili International Airport for your departure.
