4 Day Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Uganda, has the highest percentage of Mountain Gorillas in the world. There are currently fewer than 1200 mountain gorillas left in the world, and almost half of the population resides in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to more than 1,000 flowering plant species and 200 different trees, many of which are endemic. Keep a lookout for African green broad bill, colorful butterflies, and countless rare mammals on your travels.
The best place to watch mountain Gorillas in Uganda is with over 50% of the population in the world with 36 chimpanzees and 19 families habituated and tracked by tourists. Getting face to face with the gorilla is an amazing and memorable experience as you watch them feed and interact with their families.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is divided into four sections that is, Buhoma, Ruhija, Nkuringo, and Rushaga. Some of the families are Mubare with nine members, Busingye with 9 members, Nshonga with 18 members, Oruzogo with 23 members, and Nkuringo with 19 members. The gorilla families are led by a silver buck, and it’s identifiable since it’s the biggest in the family with a silver stripe.
Bird watching
The forest has over 350 bird species, all montane birds, with 15 species not recorded anywhere in Uganda. This Park shouldn’t be missed on any birder’s itinerary while on a safari in Uganda. Its location in the Albertine rift offers Bwindi 23 other unique birds that are attracted to only that environment, like Neumann’s warbler and blue-headed sunbird. Please note that migratory birds are only present from November to April.

The Park is the primary area to watch half of the mountain gorillas in the world, and gorilla trekking is one of the activities that can’t be missed on your itinerary. To participate in this activity, you will require a permit that costs $700 per person for any of the sectors, either Buhoma, Rushaga, Ruhija, or Nkuringo. Please wear trekking shoes, long-sleeved blouses, and trousers as well as a raincoat with a packed lunch. The activity is done once a day and starts with a briefing at 8 am in the park Headquarters, then you proceed for the trek in search of the gorillas, and once you find them, you will be allowed to spend only 1 hour with them. Furthermore, Bwindi has other wildlife that are not easily spotted since they aren’t habituated like the Chimpanzee, different types of Monkeys (black and white colombus, red-tailed and Vervet), Forest Elephants, duikers, and bushbucks, as well as over 300 butterflies.
Transportation
A 4×4 Safari Land Cruiser or Minivan (up to eight passengers) with pop-up tops and seven window seats for game viewing. Groups of twelve or more people who would like to travel in one vehicle are offered 25-28-seat coasters that have about 16 window seats. Day 1: Welcome to Uganda for an amazing 4-day Gorilla Trekking Trip
On your arrival, an Africa safari tours.com representative with your name printed on an A4 paper will welcome you to Uganda at Entebbe airport and transfer your hotel.
Depending on your arrival time, relax in your already-booked hotel after a long flight while you dream of your safari the following morning at 6:00 am.

Day 2: Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Hit the road to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in western Uganda. We will have a stopover at the drum maker village, Uganda Equator, for photographs, an informative talk, as well as a tea break. We will then proceed to Mbarara town for our lunch before continuing through the Kigezi region, characterized by majestic rolling hills, deep valleys, and winding roads, and spot the triangular peaks of the Virunga volcanoes in Rwanda and Congo. Arrive late evening.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking and Community Walk
After breakfast, we prepare for our gorilla tracking adventure. This is your day for a “life-changing event”: Mountain gorilla tracking. Start early with a heavy breakfast at the lodge (by 06:00h), then drive to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking in Bwindi National Park. You must be physically fit to go gorilla trekking. The trek takes 2 -8 hours, depending on the movement of these Gentle Giants in their natural habitat! packed food and water, walking shoes, insect repellent, and sunscreens are required.
It’s advisable to bring along a rain jacket and hiking boots. At the end of this long and exciting adventure, return to the lodge for a well-deserved shower, dinner, and rest at Mutanda Lake Resort | Gorilla Friends Resort Lodge.

Day 4: Final Day | Departure Day
Begin the day with breakfast, and then we will then proceed back to Kampala, making a stop at the Equator in Masaka for snacks, photographs, and souvenirs. Arrive in Kampala later that evening (depending on arrival time in Kampala, you will be taken for a city tour) and transferred to Entebbe for your departure flight.
